Simply put, being energy independent is a good thing. If it had a scent, it would smell a lot like a backyard barbeque in the summer. But sometimes the barbeque is in your neighbor’s backyard and you’re on the other side of the fence. For those of us who can’t control our electricity costs, the restriction can feel a lot like being on the outside, looking in.
As a military homeowner in Hawaii, Jacob could sense that his energy independence was just over the fence, but his out-of-state residency prevented him from taking advantage of the solar incentives offered to Hawaiian residents.
Without the significant rebate, the photovoltaic system he’d been dreaming of was out of his budget.
“I wanted to get a photovoltaic system, but didn’t know how I was going to do it,” said Jacob. But, then he discovered SunRun’s solar lease program through SunRun installer partner RevoluSun. “SunRun made a lot of sense for me. Once I learned about SunRun, the decision was really easy – it made more financial sense,” he said.
We’re proud to help those who have served our country, and we’re never done improving how we do it.
Here’s a recent suggestion:
“Hawaii is full of military families who own homes but do not have Hawaii as their state of residence due to tax reasons. Perhaps an incentive given to military to have your system installed would be a good idea. This is a great way to improve home value while decreasing payments to an expensive electric system here in HI.”
