Ken and Debbie, long-time educators and environmental advocates in Howell, NJ, had long dreamed of owning a solar home. They’d always lived efficiently, but it wasn’t until the birth of their twin sons that they were ready to take the step toward solar. They realized that going solar in New Jersey could help secure a better, healthier future for their sons and future grandchildren.
The road to a solar home was not always an easy one. Uncooperative neighbors and potential teacher layoffs threatened to derail their system’s installation, but they stuck it out to the end, and are glad they did.
Today, Ken and Debbie have a ground mount system on their property and have cut their bills down to almost nothing by prepaying their electricity. Thanks to Sunrun Total Solar, they were finally able to take the environmental leap they’d been looking forward to, and their twin sons talk about renewable energy in school with their friends. Ken and Debbie are proud to educate their children in clean power, and they have high hopes for the environmental advances their children will make in the future.
