Marin County, CA has a reputation for natural beauty and green living.  With its spectacular redwood forests and breathtaking coastline, there’s no reason to wonder why people who live just north of the Golden Gate Bridge take pride in their environment and want to make sure that future generations can thrive within it.

Ted has lived in Mill Valley in the heart of Marin County for over twenty years, and believes that living green is something everyone can do.  As a real estate developer who focuses on sustainable development, Ted is pretty familiar with solar energy and the panel technology that makes it happen.  For years Ted has wanted solar power at his home, but couldn’t justify investing over $30,000 in solar panels.

Ted had had great experiences working with local solar installer Marin Solar on commercial projects, including an old military installation at Cavallo Point in Marin County, which Ted’s company converted into an eco-friendly lodge and conference center.  When Jenny at Marin Solar called up Ted to tell him about SunRun’s financing for home solar, he thought that finally there was a way for him to easily and affordably get solar power at his own home.

Ted said: “I’ve always wanted solar from day one. When I was educated on SunRun, I was sold. There’s no reason not to do it.”  Ted got home solar with SunRun for only $1,000 to get started, and now has a low fixed rate for electricity.

Solar stats for Mill Valley, CA:

  • There are almost 750 homes in Marin County with solar power, and over 130 of those homes are in Mill Valley
  • Mill Valley residents pay 22% more for electricity than the national average
