When you think of the holidays, you might think about spending time with your friends and family, spreading the spirit of giving, or driving through neighborhoods and appreciating the beautiful lights that adorn all the houses and front yards. We wanted to share an article with you that exemplifies the power of the sun and the spirit of the holidays.
In the recent Associated Press article, “Holiday lights can mean more than meets the eye,” the story of how solar powered lights brought a community together is shared. Although the retired residents of Loon lake Lane had always enjoyed strings of holiday lights, their increasing utility rates and electric bills made it seem like the neighborhood would not look so festive this year. However, because of one solar pioneer, the community followed suit and was able to power a significant percentage of their electricity from SunRun systems. We are so proud that SunRun’s solar power service was able to bring such joy and togetherness to a community.
