California Solar Leases and PPAs

Switch to solar power in California for little or no cost with Sunrun.

Going solar makes a lot of sense in the Golden State. Sunshine is abundant, solar incentives abound, and electricity prices are high. By getting a home solar power system, you can take control of your electric costs with the power of the sun - the world's most abundant natural resource.

Sunrun puts California solar power within your budget by offering solar leases and power purchase agreeements. It's a new kind of home solar where you buy solar electricity, not panels. Known as solar power service, nearly 3 out of 4 Californians who go solar choose to go solar this way over purchasing a system.

California Solar Production

Solar Energy in CA

CA Solar Policies & Incentives: California has a long history of supporting renewable energy. The state has a strong Renewables Portfolio Standard (RPS), as well as a great program for solar incentives. Learn more about available California Solar Energy Incentives & Rebates.

CA Utility Electric Rates: If you're paying more than $100/month for electricity, installing a residential PV system is a good way to take control of your electric costs.

Many California utility companies charge for electricity by tiers. This means that the more power you use, the higher your electricity rate will be. For example, you can pay around $0.12 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for your first chunk of power. For an additional amount of power, you'll pay $0.13 per kWh, and $0.26 for the next chunk of power. With Sunrun, you can offset part of the traditional electricity you use from your utility company with clean and affordable solar electricity from Sunrun. This way, you avoid the utility company's highest rates for electricity.
