California Solar Initiative - Cities

Top Solar Cities in California, based on the number of solar homes added in 2010

The California Solar Initiative is part of the Go Solar California campaign, which was launched in January 2007 under Governor Schwarzenegger. It provides incentives for home solar power systems in the state of California.

Using comprehensive data from the California Solar Initiative, Sunrun has ranked the top California solar cities and counties in order to make information on California's solar growth more accessible and easier to understand.

We've ranked the top California solar cities by the number of solar homes added in 2010 through May, the number of solar homes added from 2007 to 2010, and by solar share, or the percentage of homes in that city with home solar power systems. Sunrun has also done the same for the top California solar counties.

"We wanted to go solar for years, but it never made financial sense. Sunrun allows us to pay only for the electricity and nothing else. We don't have to worry about any of the equipment - ever."
