Thom's Story
By going green with Sunrun, Thom was able to make a difference in the environment.
Born and raised in the South, Thomas learned growing up to do more with less. Waste was frowned upon and anything more than necessary was extravagant. Given the current economic and environmental situation, Thomas thought it was about time to put the principles instilled in him into practice. “With everything going on in the economy and the world right now, we should do more with less,” said Thomas, “I thought it would be a real good thing to go green right now.”
Thomas headed to a local energy-efficiency seminar when he ran into a San Diego solar representative from Akeena. Thomas expressed his interest in sustainability and going solar in San Diego and the representative told him about the Sunrun option. Thomas had considered buying the home solar panels outright but was reluctant to place another loan on his house, or open a second line of credit. Then, there was the high upfront cost associated with purchasing one’s own home solar system. “The solar PPA was just the way to go,” he concluded.
