With a strong renewable energy standard, New York is committed to growing clean energy within the state. New York's Renewable Portfolio Standard has a goal of getting 30% of the state's electricity from renewable energy sources by 2015.
In order to encourage solar power adoption, New York offers homeowners solar rebates, managed by the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA).
