Solar Home Visit

What happens at a home visit?

If it looks like solar is a good fit for your home, a solar consultant from one of Sunrun’s partners will visit your home. The visit can take as little as fifteen minutes, or longer if you have questions. They look for three things:

Step 1: Evaluate your roof

Is your roof facing a good direction and angle? In order for solar to make financial sense, you’ll need to be able to fit the panels you need on the parts of your roof that face south, east or west.

How much shade do you have? Trees are beautiful. Unfortunately, shade on your roof dramatically cuts solar production.

Roof condition. Your solar system will last about twenty-five years. If your roof is more than fifteen years old, you should replace it before going solar.

Step 2: Explain how solar and Sunrun work

The basics. The things every homeowner should know before signing up for solar. If you’ve got questions, the consultant will answer those, too.

Step 3: Present you with a Sunrun proposal

The proposal will show you exactly how much you’ll pay to Sunrun for your solar electricty, and your estimated solar savings each year. If it makes sense for you to sign up, we can get you up and running in two to three months.  Learn more about what happens at a Sunrun solar installation.
