Home solar is growing and going fast in Massachusetts. After the success of the Commonwealth Solar Rebate program, which awarded rebates for 23.5 MW of solar energy in less than two years, Massachusetts has launched a new MA home solar rebate program: Commonwealth Solar II. Determined to transition Massachusetts to a clean energy economy, Governor Deval Patrick aims to have 250MW of solar energy installed by 2017. With such state leadership and investment in solar energy, Massachusetts is a great place to look into home solar.

Massachusetts is currently the 4th most expensive state for electricity, according to a recent study by the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council, paying between 16 and 20 cents for electricity. These prices are only going to continue to increase. Since 1990, electricity rates in Massachusetts have doubled and most of those rate increases have occurred since 2004. But, SunRun offers two flexible plans that allow you to finally take control of your electricity costs: SunRun Power Plan and SunRun Total Solar. The SunRun Power Plan allows you to lock in a low, fixed rate for your Massachusetts solar electricity and SunRun Total Solar lets you pay for the next 18 years in advance and forego the monthly payments. The SunRun Power Plan in Massachusetts is a solar power purchase agreement. Getting Massachusetts home solar with SunRun is one of the best ways to protect you and your family against expensive rate increases in the future.

SunRun currently works with NSTAR, National Grid, Unitil Corporation, and Western Massachusetts Electric Company (WMECO) utilities. If you don’t see your utility here, that means it’s not part of the Commonwealth Solar Program. Want to go solar in Massachusetts with SunRun?
