That's why all SunRun solar plans include system maintenance and repairs for as long as you're a customer. Our professional-grade solar monitoring lets us know when your system needs servicing, and we'll do whatever it takes to keep your system running well.

SunRun's maintenance service includes free inverter replacement, including the cost of a professional electrician. This means you don't have to shell out several thousand dollars to replace your inverter when it fails, which will happen two or three times before your panels wear out.

Why is Maintenance Important?

Many homeowners think solar systems are maintenance free, but a study by two solar experts revealed that half of all solar electric systems aren't working as well as the solar contractor expected them to perform.

SunRun's maintenance and repair service effectively gives you an 18-year warranty, all-inclusive warranty on your entire system. This is 8 to 16 years longer than the typical workmanship warranty from a solar installer.

SunRun's guarantee is different from your panels' 25 year manufacturer's warranty. Most manufacturers' warranties aren't comprehensive. They don't protect your system as a whole or ensure it'll do what it's supposed to. Most manufacturers say only that their panels will still make a certain amount of energy compared to what they made when they were new. Also, if anything were to happen, SunRun would take care of replacing the panels and you wouldn't have to spend time contacting your manufacturer to redeem your warranty.
